Nick: Well the head gasket blew and the head cracked abit from what I was told. I think it started when I was on a cruise and was pushing it quite hard on 20psi and my gasket was a 2.5mm, which I went thick to try avoid this, but I guess the engine is fairly old with nearly 200,000km. But at first the stock radiator blew which was expected, so I replaced it with a koyo, thinking it was the only problem, but slowly during the week it started to overheat more n more, so went to get it tested and yeah the head is about to give up. But really i dont know if the head gasket gave up first which caused the radiator to blow or the radiator went first and cooked the head? Its still driveable but cant boost it otherwise it will overheat. Bah but now im jobless n cant afford to fix it and spent the last of my cash on fitting a 2 way diff and now I have a low compression NA to get around..

Well I don't think it was a tuning issue, its was tuned by C-red, I just think the motor was getting old, and I never serviced it on time and it was completely stock bar the HG. It wasn't a overly disaterous death but slow decay in health.. I think it put up a good fight.. I found a head for a hundred bucks so I'll save up for a temporary fix n get a smaller HG back on and rebuild the thing once i grad and start work in a few months.
Oh I thought you got your tune elsewhere. Well thats good then cuz I've been quite impressed with C-Red and was thinking of taking it there. So now that I know they've got some practice too on that sort of build i'm more sure.
If you're fixing it on the cheap then get your gasket from eristicgaskets on ebay, i've used lots of them and been very happy.
If you are putting it together to run as an NA then I have a stock NA gasket still wrapped up. But if you still want to run your turbo then I suggest just going for a stock GTE gasket set from those same guys.
